Some how, I’ve managed to get a second weekend pass this year. However this time instead for running an event; I’m playing in one and I’m really looking forward it!
The event in question is Compliance II at Triple Helix Wargames in Westbury; a 1500 point Warhammer 40000 tournament and five rounds of round-based mayhem.
By applying the ‘shiny rule’, I’m going to take my Grey Knights; although I was very tempted by my Blood Angels. My army list will be pretty similar to the one I took to A Small Matter of Honour. However to try and deal with horde armies better, I have swapped a Strike squad for a Purifier squad.
The other major decision was which unit from my ASMOH reinforcements (500 points) would be added to my Raid list(1250 points) for this tournament. After a lot of consideration, the Land Raider Crusader make the cut rather than Grand Master Vespra. There are several reasons why this is so. Firstly, the Grand Master is really expensive, but more importantly, this army needs two hard transports to function, especially with the Purifiers replacing a deep striking unit. Leaving all the eggs teleporting around one basket is really risky!

So there it is, my second stab at a tournament Grey Knight list. It is a little light on scoring units so I’m not expecting it to walk over everyone (or anyone for that matter); but it should be pretty exciting to use!
